Once joining VisaLabs Ted Harris saw the need for Visa to develop a strategy for the evolving Internet of Things (IoT) and 3D printing marketplace. He successfully convinced senior leadership to fund a new IoT lab, completely novel for Visa at that time,
The lab was designed to enable Product to explore the art of the possible and for partners to see the ongoing revolution in IoT and manufacturing technology. The lab was capable of designing and building a unique device in-house; the devices ranged from DIY secure payment devices to smart shopping baskets fully integrated into Visanet, The team produced a total of sixty patents and forty trade secrets under Ted’s leadership.
